Our equity work at San Diego Mesa College has strong roots in our partnership with CCEAL. Our partnership shifted our campus culture to one that is guided by equity and excellence. This shift happened through the development of equity-minded practitioners, deep data dives, personalized teaching and learning opportunities, access to professional development, and practical tools and resources that intentionally support and empower minoritized students, in particular Black males. Our work has allowed us to bridge the gap between who we are and who we need to be for our students. We are better because of CCEAL.
