Crystal Blue is Miwok/Nisenan woman, born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She serves as the Community Education Manager for a local tribal nation, United Auburn Indian Community, where she supports the educational pathways of tribal members, from babies to elders. Prior to her role at UAIC, she served as the Director of Institutional Development for the California Tribal College, contributing to the initiative since its early, conceptual stages as her tribe’s appointed delegate. In her role at the CTC, Crystal led tribal outreach, community engagement, and program development. She has over a well over a decade of experience working for and on behalf of tribes, tribal organizations, and tribal communities. She currently serves on the Sacramento Native American Health Center’s Board of Directors and has been appointed as its Tribal Advisor, an Officer position on the Board’s Executive Committee. Crystal earned her Master’s Degree in Tribal Administration & Governance from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Davis, where she studied English and Native Studies. Crystal firmly believes that advancing one’s education and knowledge-base empowers one’s self and the community as a whole. She is the mother to three beautiful children: Belle, Angel, and Mia.
